The perfect complement to brush lettering for personalizing all kinds of machines, vehicles and musical instruments, pinstriping is a skill that takes a steady hand and a lot of practice. Like lettering, it's one of those things you want to learn from a true master.
In this two-day workshop, students will learn traditional sword brush stroke techniques, palette paint consistency, loading the brush with materials and methods to create long lines and designs. Introduction to a variety of brush styles for intricate scrolling and fine details.
Alan Johnson started his business in 1974, designing logos, hand lettering and pinstriping hot rods, motorcycles, antique and classic cars and trucks. He has taught and demonstrated his pinstriping techniques thought out the U.S.A. and Europe. The Alan Johnson’s “How to Pinstripe” book was published in 2007. He is able to remain independent, creating masterpieces that adorn vintage auto and boat restoration projects, which appear in museums and private collections all over the country.
