Come learn the in and outs of font engineering with Type Network’s technology director Guido Ferreyra. Focusing on current standards and the best available tools will improve and ensure the technical quality of your retail fonts.


This workshop delves into the most crucial aspects of font technology in preparing fonts for retail release. The session will cover digital font engineering concepts, variable font specification, industry standards, common issues, troubleshooting techniques, essential tools, and useful tips and techniques.


The goal is to empower attendees to interact more effectively with the technical aspects of fonts, troubleshoot independently, and become familiar with the state-of-the-art font-making processes.


No prior experience in font engineering is required, but basic knowledge of digital font creation is recommended.


Whether you’re part of a font foundry, a solo designer or a student looking to publish your first typeface, this workshop is a great opportunity to learn, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the world of font production.
