Exploring Responsive Type
with
Marie Otsuka
Variable fonts are often promoted for their flexibility in adapting to different device constraints. Here, we’ll explore their potential to respond to contexts outside the browser — considering type as a performative medium over time. Drawing from the design process behind the typeface Pentameter and its specimen site, Marie Otsuka (Occupant Fonts) will share how we might extend variable technology into our environments through creative coding.
The Herb Lubalin Lectures are recorded and made available here and on Vimeo with the generous support of TypeCulture.
