The Continuing Education Department of The Cooper Union, in partnership with Letterform Archive, offers a post graduate certificate in Typeface Design, public workshops and a lecture series in San Francisco, California. This certificate program is the equivalent of the Extended program that has been offered on campus in NYC since 2010.
Certificate ProgramTop industry professionals lead a highly focused and comprehensive study of key typeface design principles: techniques, technology, aesthetics, expression, history, and theory. Students explore the foundation of typography in depth by creating their own typefaces in hands-on classes, while developing a broad understanding of the field through lectures, discussions, and research.
