Students will given instruction and expert assistance to produce multi-color specimens of their typeface designs on Vandercook presses from polymer plates designed and prepared digitally in advance.


    Required Materials

  • paper for printing (to be coordinated with the class)


Students will work on typeface design specimens as part of their course work in other classes through the summer. Everyone will send the artwork file to Boxcar press to make polymer plates in the week before this printing workshop.

For the last twelve years, Daniel Morris has run The Arm, a public access letterpress studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. He comes from a family of letterpress printers going back four generations. He has been involved with letterpress at Cooper Union since 2007. www.thearmnyc.com
